Hebrews 4:1-13 Jesus Offers a Better Rest

In chapter 4 our author was telling his Jewish audience that they still had an opportunity to enter God’s rest offered through Jesus Christ.

This rest was not a physical rest like Joshua leading them into the Promised Land. Rather, it was a better, spiritual rest that would free them from the requirements of the Law (no more works).

God’s Word promised a wonderful rest, which had to be received by faith, but God’s Word also promised a coming judgment.

This chapter has specific warnings for unbelievers. Believers do not have to fear God because we are already in His rest. Now, relax with God!
