Hebrews 11:8-19 Abraham: Faith Counted as Righteousness

The faith of Abraham, the father of the Jews, is the focus of these verses. It was important for the Jewish readers to see that faith in God is counted as righteousness. If they wanted to be right with God, then they needed faith in God. No amount of good deeds can achieve righteousness. No amount of Law keeping can earn righteousness. The key to being right was and is faith in Jesus Christ.
